2023 Pacific Games – Solomon Islands Saturday March 4 November 2023

Congratulations to all of the Norfolk Island Representatives selected to travel to the Soloman Islands for the 2023 Pacific Games in November.

Last Saturday, 4 November, the teams gathered at Rawson Hall and marched through town and lovely photographs were shared on Facebook and social media. Thank you Gaelene Nobbs-Quintal for sharing your amazing photos of the proud representatives’ team members and managers. On 27 October, our representatives and sports players received their Norfolk Island Amateur Sports Uniforms and they looked fantastic, and they will all stand out in the crowds when they arrive in the Solomon Islands later this month.

Thank you, Norfolk Island Amateur Sports and Commonwealth Games Association for supporting the Norfolk Island representatives travelling to the 2023 Pacific games.

Attached is their list of the teams and managers and sporting representatives traveling to the Soloman Islands. The Norfolk Island Chef de Mission is Mal Tarrant. The sports representatives and managers are from the following Norfolk Island sports, Netball, Touch Football, Boxing, Athletics and Va-a Outrigger.

The 2023 Pacific Games, officially known as the XVII Pacific Games, will be a continental multi-sport event for Oceania countries and territories that is scheduled to be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands between 19 November and 2 December 2023. This will be the first time the Solomon Islands would host the Pacific Games.

This weekend, the Netball Team have invited the community to support the team travelling to the Pacific Games

See our team in their hot off-the-plane uniform, it looks fantastic! Come down to the courts, or in front of the computer and support our girls in one of their last preparation games before the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands!

As the teams depart on their flights this month, everyone is invited show your support for the sports teams and other representatives and sports managers and coaches. I am sure there will be great post on the social media Facebook pages in the weeks to come keeping us all up to date of the Norfolk Island teams and supporters.
