I am pleased to confirm that regular Sydney flight services to the Island will be restored from the end of November.
As flagged when the route was temporarily suspended in September following the New South Wales COVID outbreak, the regular service of three Qantas flights a week from Norfolk to Sydney will return from 29 November 2021 now it is appropriate to do so.
This increase will support Norfolk Island’s economy while aligning with public health guidance and EMNI’s plans for opening up travel for vaccinated travellers from 1 December.
In the meantime, a weekly Sydney service on Mondays will run from 8 November until 22 November inclusive.
The three return Qantas flights from Brisbane per week continue.
The Qantas schedule from early December allows same-day connectivity from Melbourne to Norfolk Island on most weekdays through both Sydney and Brisbane. Same-day connectivity is also available from Adelaide through Brisbane.
Before travelling, please consult Norfolk Island COVID‑19 travel information at www.norfolkisland.gov.nf/covid-19-travel-information-and-entry-pass.
If you have any questions about booking changes, please contact Qantas on +61 2 8222 2422, online via qantas.com or through your travel agent.
The pandemic continues to present unprecedented global challenges to the aviation sector. I thank Qantas for helping to ensure the continuity of flights to Norfolk Island.
Thank you all for your continuing patience and understanding as we work together to rebuild our tourism sector and ensure the health and safety of residents and visitors to Norfolk Island.
