Community engagement update

The Norfolk Island Governance Committee (NIGC) members will all meet in Brisbane on 12 and 13 June 2024 for a workshop to progress development of the new governance model.

This means that there will not be a community engagement session with the community representatives at the Supper Room on Wednesday, 12 June. The weekly community engagement sessions will resume on 19 June 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at Rawson Hall.

The in-person workshop is a critical opportunity for committee members to finalise the overarching governance model which will be presented to the Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, the Hon Kristy McBain MP, and achieve outcomes as outlined in the NIGC terms of reference.

We will continue to keep the community updated through both the Wednesday community engagement sessions, and regular communiques as this work progresses.
