Title: Executive Officer (EL1), Norfolk Island Administrator’s Office

Salary Range: $113,631 - $119,891 (Plus Remote localities assistance between $7,403 and $18,104 per annum)

The opportunity we have available

The Department is seeking to fill the role of Executive Officer in the Norfolk Island Administrator’s Office (EL1). In this role, you will work to the Administrator of Norfolk Island and the Territories senior executive to provide support to the operations of the Administrator.

As an experienced public servant, you will provide guidance and knowledge of government processes and systems to facilitate the administration of Norfolk Island.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking people with excellent knowledge of APS rules and procedures who can independently support the Administrator in their daily activities. We are also looking for effective and creative problem-solvers, with the capacity to respond calmly and pragmatically to emerging situations.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure, assess work priorities, and cultivate and maintain productive working relationships, including with the Administrator, senior executive staff across the Department and the community.

  • Ability to work outside normal working hours.
