The Albanese Labor Government continues to deliver cost of living relief to families and businesses on Norfolk Island, through the Energy Bill Relief Fund.
From today, every household will see a $300 credit automatically applied to their electricity bills and eligible small businesses will receive $325 off their bills over 2024–25.
This relief will be directly applied to people’s energy accounts, with the Government to work with territory electricity providers to deliver this support.
In September last year, the Energy Bill Relief Fund was rolled out to non-self-governing territories – the first time Norfolk Island residents could access Commonwealth Government rebates.
This additional support builds on the energy bill rebates already delivered to households ($500) and eligible businesses ($650) on Norfolk Island – which were automatically credited to bills.

Quotes attributable to the Federal Member for Bean, David Smith MP:
“As one of our most remote communities, Norfolk Island is no exception to the rising costs being faced all Australians – which is why we are focused on getting $300 into the pockets of eligible families and $325 for eligible businesses on Norfolk Island – demonstrating once again that we are a government that is putting families and small business first.”
Quotes attributable to the Administrator of Norfolk Island, George Plant:
“I am pleased this important initiative has been extended for Norfolk Island.
“At a time when many in our community are doing it tough due to cost-of-living pressures, every cent matters. For households across Norfolk, the government’s support for hard working local families will be a welcome relief."
