Improper Disposal of Ammunition

Norfolk Island Regional Council has identified instances where ammunition was improperly disposed of, mixed in with general and bulky waste at the Waste Management Centre. These actions pose significant risks to the centre’s staff.

The Waste Management Centre and Police Station serve as designated locations for safe ammunition disposal. They are equipped with secure steel boxes to ensure the safe transport and storage of ammunition until it can be safely destroyed.

We urge the community to use these specified locations for the safe disposal of ammunition.
