Museum Update

School Holiday Program

Thanks to all those who came down to explore the museums and track down our Scallywag teddy during the recent school holidays. In addition to our usual school holiday booklet, the Pier Store was also visited by the 60 children from the NI-Connect Holiday program. It was great to have the kids from the holiday program come through and learn about the telescopes and different types of glass that can be found in our collections.

Visiting Tour Groups

It has been a busy few weeks with some wonderful tour groups from Wendy Wu and Scenic visiting the museums. We hope the rest of their holiday has been a great one

New Museum Manager

Maree Evans has started work as the new museum manager. She has previously worked in the museums ‘doing a bit of everything‘, from tours to temporary exhibitions. Maree wishes to extend her sincere thanks for this opportunity to promote and safeguard the history and heritage of Norfolk Island, and for all the support from the museum staff and local community.

Opening Times

The four museums (Pier Store, Sirius, Commissariat Store and No. 10) are open 11am-3pm, Monday to Saturday, with the popular Royal Engineers Office Bookshop open from 9am-3pm Monday to Friday. The Pier Store Museum is also open on Sundays 11am-3pm.

The Research Centre is open Monday-Friday 11-3pm, with longer opening times of 9am-5pm on Wednesday.
