Norfolk Island Marine Pest Survey

22 April 2022

Between 24 April and 6 May 2022, a team from Biofouling Solutions will be on Norfolk Island to undertake the first pest survey in the Norfolk Marine Park. The team will be led by Dr Ashley Coutts. The survey will improve current understanding of the Norfolk Marine Park, and can be used to inform actions required to preserve its diverse marine life. Working with local dive operators, Biofouling Solutions will take every opportunity to be in the water, looking for invasive marine species. When not in the water, the team are happy to answer questions and chat to community members about the survey and your observations in the Marine Park. You can contact Ashely via email at: acoutts@biofoulingsolutions.com.au

The Norfolk Island Flora & Fauna Society will be hosting a presentation by the Biofouling Solutions team, at 5.15pm at the A&H Hall on Monday, 2 May, immediately prior to their regular monthly meeting at 6pm. All are welcome to attend.

This survey is part of the 2021-2023 Norfolk Island Pest and Disease Survey which is funded by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications and Parks Australia
