Product Description

All my farming techniques I have learnt mostly from my father and the rest from trial and error. My father has learnt from his father who was born on Pitcairn Island prior to the whole population coming to Norfolk island in 1856. Thus these skills are partly Pitcairn experience and partly Norfolk experience.

As we have no rivers on Norfolk island all farming was done in a sustainable method of dry land farming - without water! It was not until Norfolk has reticulated power that farmers were able to assist their crops with watering.

I do mention that many vegetables and fruit trees are ' water hungry' but I still grow most of my crops without water as the only water I have for the vegetable garden comes out of my house supply tank, and that's a limited supply.
